Sponsored by Goodman, CEVA Logistics, SSI Schaefer, BCS China and SupplyOn, CHaINA'12 Live, the ultimate gathering of China's top supply chain and logistics professionals, was held on November 7-8. Hailed as a resounding success, it left attendees inspired and informed about supply chain challenges and more prepared to address pertinent issues.
The event featured more than 60 speakers in 20 different streams covering supply chain strategy, retail & distribution, e-commerce & B2C logistics, global sourcing & IPO management, lean supply chain, sales & operation planning, supply chain risk, sustainable supply chain, and many more. This wide range of topics, speakers and streams was intended to complement the interests of individual delegates and enable them to apply the information learned at CHaINA'12 directly to their businesses.
The wide range of speakers included educators from the University of Washington, CEIBS, Tongji University, lawyers from Troutman Sanders, and leading supply chain practitioners from top Fortune 500 Companies including LVMH, Dow Chemical, BOSCH, Delphi, AB-Inbev, Continental, Peugeot, Timex, VANCL, Lenovo, Clarins, SPAR, Metro, Johnson Controls, and many more. Judging by the Q and A panel sessions, discussions and positive feedback received during the conference breaks, the speakers and topics were well received. The favorable turnout is also a good indication that the Chinese supply chain is still actively seeking ways to become resilient and efficient.
The variety of speakers provided just the right blend of intellect and passion, and answered enthusiastic and probing questions from crowds of well over 200 experts working in supply chain, logistics, sourcing, procurement, operations and many more related fields.
Highlights of the event included an opening video as well as great keynote speeches from Tim Tolhurst, CPO Senior Executive VP from DSM, Lawrence Ger, VP of Group Logistics from Test Rite Group, Raymond Lee, VP East China from CEVA Logistics, Gilles Thierry, Director of APAC Regional Demand from Beiersdorf, Mark Rivers, GM of Emerging Markets from Rio Tinto, and Wayne Huang, GM of China Operations from Goodman.
In addition, on November 7th, CHaINA'12 Live hosted a wine tasting mixer which provided a more intimate setting for delegates to network, socialize and unwind. CHaINA'12 also featured the prestigious CHaINA Awards, one of the only supply chain awards to recognize and promote outstanding achievement in supply chain and logistics in China. Hosted by Master of Ceremony Karl Dominik, the Awards were held on November 8th, produced eight winners and were attended by over 200 senior executives.
Finally, we are pleased to announce that CHaINA'13 Live will be held on November 6-7, 2013. For updates and information about next year's event, please check www.chainalive.com
